Belkyra (deoxycholic acid) injections are indicated for improving the appearance of moderate to severe convexity or fullness associated with submental fat, commonly known as 'double chin,' in adults. The safe and effective use of Belkyra for treating subcutaneous fat outside the submental region has not been established and is not recommended.
What to expect during Belkyra treatments?
Each Belkyra treatment involves approximately 10 to 30 small injections in various locations beneath the chin. The fat is dissolved within 10-15 minutes of injection, triggering an inflammatory response that causes swelling, which typically subsides over 3-4 weeks. Once your desired results are achieved, re-treatment is not expected. As with all services, it is important to maintain your medical-grade skincare regimen before and after treatments.
